Rast Coffee Home-Office Blend packaging, perfect for a day at the home office
100% Arabica
CHF 30,90 3 SIZES
Rast Coffee Home-Office, 1 kg beans

Whether you're concentrating on work or taking a short coffee break - this coffee gives you the perfect boost for the home office. The blend combines three fine Arabicas from Colombia, Ethiopia and Brazil, combining an invigorating effect with fine, balanced flavours. In the cup, the home office blend from RAST KAFFEE has a nutty aroma accompanied by floral notes. Fine nuances of hazelnut and dried apricot unfold on the palate. The slight acidity gives the coffee freshness and vibrancy, while the sweet undertones ensure a harmonious flavour experience - ideal for long working days. This coffee is versatile and adapts to your everyday life. It is particularly well-balanced as a café crème, where the blend unfolds its full depth of flavour. As a filter coffee, it impresses with its clarity and fruity elegance, while as an espresso it reveals its nutty fullness and pleasant intensity. The Home Office blend combines beans from three renowned regions of origin. The Arabicas from the Cooperativa Cafenorte, which has been supporting around 1,900 coffee families since 1963 and ensures quality and traceability, come from Colombia. From Ethiopia comes the legendary Yirgacheffe coffee, characterised by small family businesses and centralised, gentle processing. The blend is complemented by Yellow Bourbon from Brazil from Fazenda Samambaia, where the fourth generation of the Cambraia family cultivates top-quality coffee using sustainable methods. The home office blend is 100% Arabica and is carefully roasted by RAST KAFFEE to preserve its harmonious balance of acidity, sweetness and depth of flavour. It is ideal for fully automatic machines or portafilter machines, but also for classic filter preparation. A coffee that not only wakes you up, but also accompanies you through the working day with pleasure.

Which coffee is best suited to which coffee machine?

There's no question about it: choosing the right coffee depends on the type of extraction method you choose. You will experience enjoyable moments if you find out exactly which coffee is best suited to your particular extraction method.

Coffee beans for portafilter machines

Portafilter machines are particularly popular with coffee lovers as they offer very high quality coffee preparation. Espresso roasts are always the right choice for portafilter machines. Filter roasts, on the other hand, should be avoided. By the way: You can find information about the roast on the packaging.

Coffee beans for fully automatic machines

Fully automatic machines are particularly practical and easy to use. The coffee beans are ground automatically and the hot water is pressed through the coffee powder. This produces a simple yet delicious coffee. Even with fully automatic machines, the degree of grinding and the desired amount of water must be set in order to achieve optimum results.

The general rule for fully automatic machines is that medium to dark roasts produce the best flavour. It is particularly important that the beans do not have an oily surface, as otherwise the grinder of the fully automatic machine may clog.

In principle, however, both Arabica and Robusta beans are suitable for fully automatic machines. Arabica beans are somewhat milder and more varied in flavour than the strong, full-bodied Robusta beans.

Coffee lovers should try out which blend produces the best flavour for them.

Coffee beans for filter preparation

Filter preparation is one of the most cost-effective ways of making coffee. The freshly ground coffee powder is placed in a filter and hot water is slowly poured over the coffee powder. This produces a mild yet flavoursome coffee.

The following applies to coffee: the longer the extraction time, the lighter the roast should be to avoid a bitter flavour. Therefore, the motto for all types of filter coffee - whether immersion (e.g. French press) or percolation (e.g. V60) - is: use lighter roasts that are specifically labelled for filter coffee. Unless you like your coffee to taste a little bitter.

You can't go wrong with high-quality Arabica beans for filter coffee. But Robusta beans can also refine your coffee with interesting flavour nuances. Here is a brief explanation of the difference:

  • Arabica beans: These beans often have a higher acidity and a more delicate flavour, which makes them perfect for filter coffee. The acidity depends on the type of roast. Arabicas have a caffeine content of approx. 1.5%
  • Robusta beans: These beans often have a stronger flavour and can produce a beautiful crema. However, they are less flavourful than Arabica beans. The caffeine content of Robusta beans is around 3.5%.

Immerse yourself in the adventure of filter coffee and experiment with different roasts yourself. You'll quickly find out what you like best.
