Sometimes a great story begins very small - in an old student dormitory in Zurich's Kreis fünf district. Where the aroma of freshly roasted beans has been wafting through the rooms since 2006, something was born that has changed Zurich's coffee culture forever.

Miró Coffee believes that great coffee should be accessible to everyone - without compromising on quality or origin. Founded by brothers Dani and David Sanchez, a small garage gave rise to a movement that has changed Zurich's coffee culture. What began as a dream became "miró manufactura de café", a roastery with heart, craftsmanship and attitude.
The two brothers combine down-to-earthness with a love of experimentation. Their coffees are honest, transparent and always in search of the perfect balance between flavour, origin and sustainability. Whether in the flagship café on Brauerstrasse, in the station shop or in the legendary miró truck - the same spirit prevails everywhere: passion, openness and the pursuit of excellence.
Miró roasts coffees that tell stories - stories of people, soils, altitudes and microclimates. Each bean is carefully selected and refined to a level that preserves the natural diversity of flavours. The roastery works exclusively with speciality coffees that are freshly roasted each week - seasonally, precisely and with an unmistakable sense of balance.
The Sanchez brothers see the art of roasting as a constant evolution: curious, respectful and uncompromising. Their approach is modern, but never interchangeable - just like the flavours of their coffees, which range from peach to lime to cocoa nibs. And it is precisely this diversity that has made Miró the roastery of the year 2025 - recognised by crema Switzerland for its consistent quality, commitment and unmistakable signature.
Miró Coffee knows that real change starts with small steps. From cultivation to the cup, they act with mindfulness. They maintain close relationships with coffee producers, ensure fair payment and promote sustainable cultivation. Many of their coffees are Fairtrade, certified organic or come from direct trade - always with the aim of giving more than they take.
But at Miró, sustainability does not end at the supply chain: it runs through every detail - from the packaging to the working culture and local collaborations with Zurich artists.
