Package of Otavio Brazilian Coffee by Drip Roasters
CHF 15,50 250 g
Drip Roasters Brasil Otavio

This coffee from Fazenda do Salto surprises with a unique flavour profile that elegantly combines typical Brazilian notes of cocoa and hazelnut with a delicate orange. Thanks to careful anaerobic fermentation, additional exotic fruit flavours unfold that will remind you of ripe guavas or papayas. Brazil Otavio delights with a wonderfully balanced flavour. A full-bodied cocoa flavour, complemented by nutty accents and refreshing orange, awaits you at the first sip. However, the real highlight is the fruity nuances of guava and papaya, which are particularly intense thanks to the special fermentation and provide a natural sweetness. A coffee that is complex and yet pleasantly accessible. To enjoy the full flavour of Brazil Otavio, we recommend the following preparation: use 19 grams of ground coffee for 42 grams of espresso. The optimum brewing time is around 28 seconds with a brew ratio of 1:2.2 to achieve a perfect balance between body, sweetness and fruity acidity - a moment of pleasure that is worth every sip. Brazil Otavio comes from Carmo da Cachoeira in the famous coffee-growing region of Sul de Minas in Brazil. At the Fazenda do Salto, run by Otávio Reis in the fifth generation, innovation, tradition and sustainability are very important. The farm produces its own electricity using solar energy, utilises water from natural sources that is carefully treated and uses a gentle mechanical drying process for the coffee. Biodiversity and environmental protection are top priorities - around 400 hectares are reserved as a nature reserve. For years, Otávio's coffees have regularly won prizes at prestigious competitions and continue to set standards in terms of quality and sustainability.

Bag of 'La Papaya' coffee from Drip Roasters, Ecuador
CHF 19,00 150 g
Drip Roasters Ecuador La Papaya

If you are looking for a coffee that will surprise you with every cup, then you will love the Ecuador La Papaya from Drip Roasters. This exceptional microlot from Ecuador is in a league of its own - intensely sweet, complexly fruity and wonderfully clear in the cup. A coffee for explorers, adventurers and anyone who wants to tickle their taste buds. La Papaya is a real flavour spectacle. It combines the sweetness of ripe strawberries with the tangy freshness of citrus fruits and tropical notes such as passion fruit and watermelon. The texture is full-bodied and slightly syrupy, with a hint of fermented wildness - but never overpowering. On the contrary: despite its "funky" character, the cup remains surprisingly clean and balanced. The Mejorado variety used is a genetically exciting hybrid of Bourbon and Ethiopian landraces - known for its floral aromas and lively acidity. This coffee is grown at 1900 to 2100 metres above sea level in the Ecuadorian Andes. The plants there benefit from constantly cool temperatures and volcanic soil - ideal conditions for slow growth and high bean density. This coffee reveals its full complexity particularly well as a filter coffee - whether as a V60, Aeropress or in a batch brewer. If you are keen to experiment, you can also try it as a fruity espresso. The important thing is to give it enough time after the roasting date and work at a slightly lower brewing temperature (approx. 90-92 °C) to bring out the subtle fruity flavours even better. The beans are selected by hand after harvesting and undergo 120 hours of anaerobic fermentation in old oak barrels that once housed Ecuadorian rum for 20 years. Fermentation takes place under strictly controlled conditions - with sensors for temperature and humidity, in dark rooms at below 18 °C. The coffee is then dried until it is ready for consumption. The coffee then dries slowly on covered drying beds for up to 30 days. This careful processing gives La Papaya its depth, structure and special flavour.

What makes Drip Roasters particularly good

Drip Roasters is not about a quick fire in the roaster, but about the soul of the bean. Their mission is to visualise the characters of each origin: the high altitudes of Peru, the volcanic soils of Guatemala or the fruity nuances of Ethiopia.

They want to show you how diverse coffee can be - far away from the bitter everyday drink and towards an experience that surprises and inspires. The speciality: They don't see coffee as a consumer good, but as an invitation to rediscover the world in miniature.

How and what Drip Roasters roasts

Their roasting philosophy is bright, clear and precise. Each bean is given an individual profile, which is monitored and perfected using state-of-the-art software. Temperature, gas pressure, time - nothing is left to chance.

But despite all the technology, one thing remains the centre of attention: the sensory journey. Drip Roasters manages to harmonise fruitiness, sweetness and subtle acidity - whether as a hand drip, espresso or café crème. The result is coffees that can remind you of tea, sometimes floral, sometimes berry, sometimes caramel - but always honest and unadulterated.

Sustainability

At Drip Roasters, sustainability is not just a buzzword, but a responsibility that we live by. They pay prices that are well above Fairtrade, maintain long-term relationships with producers and consciously avoid unnecessary air travel.

Instead, they invest at least 1% of their turnover each year in social and ecological projects in the countries of origin. Packaging, energy, resources - everything is scrutinised, improved and consistently made more environmentally friendly. For Drip Roasters, sustainability means not living today at the expense of tomorrow - and making good, step by step, what generations before us have destroyed.
