What makes Caffè Arcaffè particularly good

Arcaffè is a brand that doesn't just produce coffee, it preserves it. It all began in 1895 in Livorno, a city that has been a meeting place for traders, cultures and flavours for centuries. Antonio and Luigi Meschini opened their first small shop - a place full of spices, liqueurs and coffees from Latin America and Yemen. It was here that they developed an understanding of quality that has remained unchanged to this day.

Over the years, the small shop developed into a roastery that combines the essence of Italian coffee tradition with a curious, open attitude. Each generation has added something: experience, knowledge, passion.

Today, Prunella Meschini carries on the family legacy - with the aim of putting the spirit of Italy into every cup. Arcaffè is therefore not just a coffee, but an expression of living culture.

How and what Caffè Arcaffè roasts

Arcaffè roasts with a respect that has become rare. Each bean is processed separately, each blend is composed individually. The roasting process itself takes place with pure hot air - a method that avoids direct contact between the bean and combustion gases and enables a particularly clean, aromatic result.

The flavour is the result of experience, intuition and a keen instinct. The master roaster does not make decisions based on machine values, but on the perfect moment when a bean reveals its character.

The result is blends that have been passed down from generation to generation:

  • Roma, mild and round, with notes of cocoa and caramel
  • Gorgona, strong and deeper in expression, thanks to the fine proportion of Robusta
  • Mokacrema, honey-sweet, clean and elegant on the finish

Each of these varieties is a reminder that good coffee takes time, craftsmanship and people with real dedication.

At Arcaffè, sustainability is not a label or a trend, but an attitude.

It starts with the selection of green coffees, which come directly from producers who have been closely associated with the family for many years. Fair conditions, transparent supply chains and respectful cooperation are a matter of course.

The roastery also demonstrates a sense of responsibility in production. Pure hot-air roasting reduces exhaust gases, the beans are cooled exclusively with air and the entire plant is energised by a large photovoltaic system. The result is coffee that not only tastes great, but also respects the environment.
