Grown in the fertile highlands of the Nyeri region and processed with great care, this coffee not only impresses with its flavour - it has also been awarded gold by independent Q-graders. A real highlight for discerning palates.
The aroma of ripe peach and blackcurrant immediately whets the appetite for more. In the cup, the Nyeri unfolds a wonderfully clear grapefruit flavour, complemented by the typical cassis fruitiness for which Kenyan coffees are known. The lively acidity is perfectly integrated and gives the coffee an invigorating freshness - like a fruit sorbet in liquid form.
Nyeri really comes into its own in filter preparation - whether in the Hario V60, the Chemex or the classic filter machine. It also cuts a fine figure as a café crème, especially if you prefer a light-coloured, fruity coffee. This coffee is not intended for espresso - its fine acidity and lightness would be lost there.
The coffee comes from the highlands of Nyeri, where it grows at an altitude of 1,600 to 2,200 metres on volcanic sandy soil. The SL28 and SL34 varieties are considered some of the best in the world and are used almost exclusively for high-quality Arabica coffee in Kenya. Manual harvesting, traditional washing and slow drying in the sun ensure exceptional clarity in the cup. Nyeri AA is not only an outstanding coffee, but also proof of the excellence of Kenyan coffee craftsmanship.

We recommend that espresso roasts be used 12 days after the roast date or filter coffees 5 days after the roast date found on the package. Freshly roasted coffee needs this time until it is ready for a constant extraction.
