About 10 years ago, the Naandi Foundation began to teach the local Adivasi farmers the craft of biodynamic coffee cultivation. The Foundation's work soon showed success and convinced the world of speciality coffee. Higher revenues, new perspectives for the farmers and a speciality for frahling lovers are the positive results.Black & Blaze is a small roastery in Zurich. It was founded in 2010 by the owner Claude Stahel, who decided on a holiday trip to dedicate his life to coffee. Claude and his team enthusiastically roast a variety of different coffees in Ebmatingen/Forch.

This Jimma from Cooperative Birbirsa shows the quality of the region beautifully with notes of raspberry and pineapple combined with an alcoholic kick and elegant flowers. Birbirsa is a primary cooperative belonging to the Kata Muduga Multi-Purpose Farmer's Cooperative Union. The Union is based in the town of Agaro, 45 km from Jimma, the largest town in the southwest of the Oromia region of Ethiopia, and 397 km from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.Kata Muduga works with farmers from 5 rural districts in the Jimma zone: Goma, Gera, Gumai, Setema and Sigimo. The executive director and representative of the union is Asnake Nigat. Birbirsa, in Goma district, Beshaka kebele, impressed us in 2020 with the quality of their natural coffees.This Jimma Grade 1 (JImma is the grade given to unwashed lots in this zone) shows the quality of the region beautifully with notes of raspberry and pineapple combined with an alcoholic kick and elegant flowers.Black & Blaze is a small Zurich roastery.
