Rast Coffee Apas Organic Fairtrade 250g pack
Brazilfairtrade100% Arabica
CHF 8,50250 g
Rast Coffee Apas, Brazil

Discover a piece of Brazilian coffee culture with Rast Apas coffee. This single origin from the south of Minas Gerais not only brings an aromatic experience to your cup, but also stands for fairness, transparency and sustainability. APAS unites the passion of 60 small producers who are fully committed to quality and fair trade. In the cup, Apas impresses with its complex interplay of flavours. You can expect an aroma of tart floral and nutty notes. Dark chocolate and liquorice unfold on the palate, giving the coffee depth and character. Its full body and natural processing give you a harmonious, long-lasting flavour experience. Rast Apas coffee is particularly versatile. As a café crème, its aromatic balance comes into its own, while as an espresso it delights with its intensity and fine flavour. It is less suitable for preparation in a filter, as the strong flavours are somewhat less pronounced in the balance. It unfolds its full potential with a portafilter machine or in a fully automatic machine. This coffee is backed by the Associaçao dos Produtores do Alto da Serra (APAS). This FAIR TRADE association, based in the district of Ferreiras in the south of Minas Gerais, emphasises quality, transparency and fair conditions. The altitude of 1,000 to 1,500 metres, the balanced climate and the fertile soils create ideal conditions for coffees with excellent SCA scores of over 80 points. Apas consists of the Catuai, Mundo Nuevo and Tupi varieties, which have been processed naturally. The harvest period is between July and September 2024. With certificates such as organic, Fairtrade and direct trade, this coffee shows that top quality and social responsibility go hand in hand. So you not only enjoy excellent flavour, but also support producers who do their work with passion and respect for people and nature.

Rast Coffee APG Coatepec, Mexico

Rast Coffee APG Coatepec, Mexico

If you're looking for a coffee that will surprise you with its delicate fruitiness and harmonious depth, you'll find it with Rast APG Coatepec coffee. This pure Arabica from the heights of Veracruz, Mexico, brings the best of its origins to your cup: a playful combination of sweet gooseberry notes, gentle freshness and a round, warming cocoa finish. A real all-rounder - both as a lively espresso and as a balanced café crème. The APG Coatepec is elegant and finely nuanced. The nose is dominated by sweet, fruity notes of gooseberry, accompanied by a light citrus freshness. Notes of orange zest and cocoa unfold on the palate, creating a soft, warm depth. This sensory balance makes it a versatile pleasure - from fruity and lively to creamy and full-bodied. This coffee is particularly strong as an espresso or café crème. As an espresso, it has a clear, fruity structure with lively acidity and a delicate body. In a larger cup, as a café crème, the fruit becomes softer, the texture creamier and the flavour is rounded off with fine chocolate notes. It is less suitable for filter methods, as its character loses some of its depth here. APG Coatepec comes from APG Specialty Coffee, a traditional family business from Coatepec, Veracruz. The name goes back to Antonio Pérez Galván, who was already active as a coffee exporter in the 1930s. Today, the company works closely with local farmers and favours transparency and sustainable processes. Fully washed processing produces a clean, clearly structured coffee with consistently high quality. Together with Rast Kaffee, APG shares the passion with which top-quality coffee has been produced for generations - with heart, dedication and respect for nature.

Fruity coffees are instantly recognisable: Intense aromas of berries, citrus and tropical fruits emerge as soon as the coffee is ground. The cup reveals a clear, lively acidity - not acidic, but fresh and elegant.

On the palate, an interplay of sweetness, fruitiness and fine floral notes unfolds.

  • Ethiopia often brings bergamot, peach and jasmine
  • Kenya shines with cassis, grapefruit and hibiscus
  • Central America delivers apple, honeydew melon and caramel clarity.

These coffees are aromatic, light and complex at the same time - an experience for the nose and tongue.

Origin - where fruitiness originates

The most intense fruit flavours can be found in Ethiopia and Kenya. Varieties that are naturally sweet and floral grow here. Coffees from Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama also have a softer, balanced fruity flavour.
