Packaging of Rast Coffee Buthinda, black bag with label

Rast Butihinda, Burundi

If you like coffees with lively acidity and tangy fruitiness, you will love the Rast Butihinda. This light-coloured Arabica from Burundi brings all the diversity of its origin to your cup: from the Muyinga hill region to your coffee break - intense, playful and surprisingly different.

The scent of caramel prepares you for an aromatic experience reminiscent of black tea and ripe peach. This combination gives Butihinda an elegant structure with fine acidity and a fresh, fruity sweetness. Light, lively and with a pleasantly dry finish, it lingers long in the memory - perfect for those who prefer floral and fruity notes.

This coffee unfolds its full strength in Café Crème and in filter preparation (3/3 each). As an espresso, it is somewhat more restrained (1/3), but remains exciting if you like it fruity and light. Butihinda brings out its black tea notes and peach acidity perfectly, especially in the pour-over method or the French press.

Butihinda comes from north-east Burundi, more precisely from Muyinga - a region with ideal climatic conditions for growing coffee. The beans of the Bourbon variety are cultivated by small farmers who join together in cooperatives. There they not only receive support in training and processing, but also fair access to the market. The coffee is completely washed and sun-dried - in keeping with traditional African craftsmanship. A coffee that not only tastes good, but also does good.

Coffee Annan Café Crème, organic

Discover a world of coffee that goes deeper with the Organic Café Crème from Coffee Annan. Grown on the volcanic heights of the Rwenzori Mountains in the Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, this coffee promises not only enjoyment, but also a story of hope and change. With every sip, you support the sustainable efforts of local coffee farmers who produce this exceptional coffee under difficult conditions but with a great deal of passion. The BIO-Café Crème is characterised by its smooth and finely balanced aromas of chocolate and caramel. The combination of single origin Arabica beans of the rare Rumangabo variety and careful roasting in Kenya gives this coffee an exquisite balance of flavours. The light sweetness and creamy texture turn every sip into a small celebration. This organic coffee comes from 100% Arabica beans, which are carefully grown and harvested at an altitude of 1500 to 1800 metres above sea level. The beans are washed after harvesting and refined in Kenya to a medium-dark roast. This reduces the acidity and brings out the characteristic sweet notes to optimum effect. We recommend using a fully automatic machine, a moka pot or a French press to prepare this fine coffee. These methods bring out the natural sweetness and harmonious chocolate and caramel flavours and guarantee a full-bodied coffee experience. Your perfect morning starts with the BIO-Café Crème. With every purchase of Coffee Annan coffee, you contribute directly to a fairer value chain. This is because, unlike usual, a significant proportion of the revenue generated is reinvested directly in the coffee-growing regions. This not only supports local coffee farmers, but also promotes sustainable practices and improves living conditions in one of the world's most challenging regions. With Coffee Annan's organic café crème, you can not only enjoy excellent coffee, but also become part of a movement that shows how enjoyment and social responsibility can go hand in hand.
