Fruity coffees - lively, juicy, surprising

Fruity coffees bring sunshine to the cup. They are lightly roasted, have a complex flavour and are reminiscent of berries, citrus fruits or stone fruit.

These coffees show how diverse and lively Arabica can be - far away from dark bitterness, towards tangy elegance.

Rast Coffee APG Coatepec, Mexico

If you're looking for a coffee that will surprise you with its delicate fruitiness and harmonious depth, you'll find it with Rast APG Coatepec coffee. This pure Arabica from the heights of Veracruz, Mexico, brings the best of its origins to your cup: a playful combination of sweet gooseberry notes, gentle freshness and a round, warming cocoa finish. A real all-rounder - both as a lively espresso and as a balanced café crème. The APG Coatepec is elegant and finely nuanced. The nose is dominated by sweet, fruity notes of gooseberry, accompanied by a light citrus freshness. Notes of orange zest and cocoa unfold on the palate, creating a soft, warm depth. This sensory balance makes it a versatile pleasure - from fruity and lively to creamy and full-bodied. This coffee is particularly strong as an espresso or café crème. As an espresso, it has a clear, fruity structure with lively acidity and a delicate body. In a larger cup, as a café crème, the fruit becomes softer, the texture creamier and the flavour is rounded off with fine chocolate notes. It is less suitable for filter methods, as its character loses some of its depth here. APG Coatepec comes from APG Specialty Coffee, a traditional family business from Coatepec, Veracruz. The name goes back to Antonio Pérez Galván, who was already active as a coffee exporter in the 1930s. Today, the company works closely with local farmers and favours transparency and sustainable processes. Fully washed processing produces a clean, clearly structured coffee with consistently high quality. Together with Rast Kaffee, APG shares the passion with which top-quality coffee has been produced for generations - with heart, dedication and respect for nature.

Stoll Brasil, organic

If you are looking for an honest, full-bodied and natural coffee, you will be delighted with Stoll Kaffee Brasil Bio. It comes from the renowned Dutra Farm in Brazil, where the brothers Ednilson and Walter Dutra have been growing high-quality coffee with passion and precision for over 35 years. Their commitment to quality, sustainability and social responsibility is reflected in every cup. This organic coffee shows how harmonious Brazilian coffee can taste. The natural processing gives it a pleasant sweetness and a round, creamy body. The flavour reveals subtle notes of milk chocolate, nuts and a hint of caramel. A smooth, well-balanced espresso with a classic fullness that immediately reminds you of sunny Brazilian plantations. Stoll Coffee Brasil Bio unfolds its full flavour best in a portafilter or fully automatic machine. A slightly finer grind is recommended for espresso to optimally emphasise the sweetness and depth. As a lungo, it shows its harmonious balance between body and mild acidity. Even in combination with milk - as a cappuccino, for example - its chocolate profile is wonderfully preserved. This 100% Arabica comes exclusively from the Dutra Farm in Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is processed "naturally", i.e. sun-dried, which preserves its natural sweetness. Stoll Kaffee's medium roast expresses the full potential of these beans - classic, but with a modern approach to sustainability and quality. 100% certified organic and roasted with love in Zurich.

Drip Roasters Brasil Otavio, 250 g beans

This coffee from Fazenda do Salto surprises with a unique flavour profile that elegantly combines typical Brazilian notes of cocoa and hazelnut with a delicate orange. Thanks to careful anaerobic fermentation, additional exotic fruit flavours unfold that will remind you of ripe guavas or papayas. Brazil Otavio delights with a wonderfully balanced flavour. A full-bodied cocoa flavour, complemented by nutty accents and refreshing orange, awaits you at the first sip. However, the real highlight is the fruity nuances of guava and papaya, which are particularly intense thanks to the special fermentation and provide a natural sweetness. A coffee that is complex and yet pleasantly accessible. To enjoy the full flavour of Brazil Otavio, we recommend the following preparation: use 19 grams of ground coffee for 42 grams of espresso. The optimum brewing time is around 28 seconds with a brew ratio of 1:2.2 to achieve a perfect balance between body, sweetness and fruity acidity - a moment of pleasure that is worth every sip. Brazil Otavio comes from Carmo da Cachoeira in the famous coffee-growing region of Sul de Minas in Brazil. At the Fazenda do Salto, run by Otávio Reis in the fifth generation, innovation, tradition and sustainability are very important. The farm produces its own electricity using solar energy, utilises water from natural sources that is carefully treated and uses a gentle mechanical drying process for the coffee. Biodiversity and environmental protection are top priorities - around 400 hectares are reserved as a nature reserve. For years, Otávio's coffees have regularly won prizes at prestigious competitions and continue to set standards in terms of quality and sustainability.

Rast decaffeinated, organic Fairtrade

Do you want full flavour without caffeine? This decaffeinated Arabica from Peru shows you just how flavourful decaffeinated coffee can be. Rast Kaffee uses the natural CO₂ process so that only the caffeine disappears - and the subtle flavours remain. So you get a cup full of flavour, sustainably produced and Fairtrade certified. This coffee smells of almonds, dark chocolate and a fine fruity flavour. In the cup, it has a clear chocolate flavour, round and balanced. The Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera Alto Mayo supplies Arabicas from altitudes of 1200 to 1900 metres - the best conditions for depth, clarity and natural sweetness. This coffee works perfectly as an espresso and as a café crème - each rated 3/3 points. It is less suitable for filter coffee, as its strengths lie in pressure and crema. You get a dense, aromatic espresso without caffeine, ideal for any time of day - and also for late in the evening. The coffee comes from Fairtrade and organic-certified cultivation and is gently decaffeinated using the CO₂ process - without any chemical solvents. The beans are produced by 1517 farming families from the San Martín and Cajamarca regions. The co-operative focuses on sustainable agriculture, social development and the highest quality standards. The varieties range from Caturra and Pache to Typica, Bourbon and Mundonovo. The cooperative is particularly proud of its Santa Maria origin, a coffee that is produced by 45 women and stands for particularly fine cup profiles.

Sensory perception - what the nose and palate experience

Fruity coffees are instantly recognisable: Intense aromas of berries, citrus and tropical fruits emerge as soon as the coffee is ground. The cup reveals a clear, lively acidity - not acidic, but fresh and elegant.

On the palate, an interplay of sweetness, fruitiness and fine floral notes unfolds.

  • Ethiopia often brings bergamot, peach and jasmine
  • Kenya shines with cassis, grapefruit and hibiscus
  • Central America delivers apple, honeydew melon and caramel clarity.

These coffees are aromatic, light and complex at the same time - an experience for the nose and tongue.

Origin - where fruitiness originates

The most intense fruit flavours can be found in Ethiopia and Kenya. Varieties that are naturally sweet and floral grow here. Coffees from Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama also have a softer, balanced fruity flavour.

The most intense fruit flavours can be found in Ethiopia and Kenya. Varieties that are naturally sweet and floral grow here. Coffees from Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama also have a softer, balanced fruity flavour.

An important factor is the processing:

  • Natural or honey-processed coffees emphasise sweet fruit and berry flavours.
  • Washed coffees bring clarity, freshness and citrus flavours.

Origin - where fruitiness originates

The most intense fruit flavours come from Ethiopia and Kenya. Varieties that have a particularly high level of natural acidity and flavour grow here. Coffees from Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama also have a more harmonious fruity flavour - softer, sweeter and less citrusy.

One key lies in the processing:

  • Natural & Honey Processed coffees enhance berry and stone fruit flavours.
  • Washed coffees emphasise acidity, clarity and floral notes.

Roasting - light, precise, transparent

Fruity coffees need light to medium roasts.

They are developed briefly to preserve the fine flavours. Roasts that are too dark mask the fruitiness with roasted flavours and bitter substances.

The art lies in striking the right balance between sweetness, acidity and transparency - this keeps the coffee lively and balanced.

Fruity coffees are the opposite of ordinary.

They are lively, clear and juicy - perfect for anyone who wants to rediscover coffee. Choose light-coloured roasts, pay attention to origin and try out different filter methods. This allows you to taste the full range of nature, terroir and craftsmanship in your cup.
