If you're looking for espresso with a punch, you'll love this coffee. The single-origin Canephora from the Indian Kerkeicoondah plot is not for the faint-hearted - but everything for strong cups. Powerful, aromatic and with an unmistakable character, it is a rare treat for anyone who wants to rediscover Robusta.
This light-coloured Robusta surprises with an intense aroma of juniper and malt. Nutty, spicy and chocolaty flavours unfold on the palate - full-bodied, clearly structured and pleasantly dry on the finish. Its fine bitterness is accompanied by a dense texture and distinctive roasted flavours. An espresso with great depth and a long finish.
Rast Kerkeicoondah unfolds its full power in espresso (3/3). It is less suitable for café crème or filter preparation - too strong, too direct, too focussed. As a single shot or double ristretto, it makes a statement - on its own or as a base for milk drinks with plenty of character.
Canephora comes from the Balehonnur Farm in Chickmagalur, Karnataka. The farm has been run by the Mammen family since 1943, today by Jacob Mammen in the third generation. Sustainability and fairness take centre stage: the harvest is done entirely by hand, employees receive accommodation, medical care and bonus payments. The coffee cherries grow at an altitude of up to 1,000 metres and are processed separately as plot coffee. The result: a single-origin Robusta that you rarely find - clear, direct and impressively good.

We recommend that espresso roasts be used 12 days after the roast date or filter coffees 5 days after the roast date found on the package. Freshly roasted coffee needs this time until it is ready for a constant extraction.
