The family business was founded in 1943 and has since been run by three generations, currently by Jacob Mammen and his family. It covers around 650 hectares in Chickmagalur and around 80 hectares in Kerala. In addition to sustainable cultivation and constant quality controls in the company's own laboratory, Jacob Mammen also attaches great importance to the fair treatment of employees.

For example, everyone receives annual bonus payments, free accommodation, water and medical care. Harvesting is done by hand, without the use of machines, which guarantees high quality. The Robusta grows at 750 to 1,000 metres above sea level on gentle slopes to steep hills on clayey laterite soils.

Parcel coffees are harvested and processed separately according to individual fields. This produces unique and unmistakable flavour profiles. This parcel-by-parcel processing of the coffees from a particular plantation makes it possible to experience the influences of variety, terroir, microclimate, altitude and processing. This makes it possible to present these single-origin and limited coffees with a special origin in a transparent way.
