Avantcha Organic Masala Spice Chai

Black tea is a variant of tea production. In contrast to green tea, the tea leaves of the tea plant are fermented. In the western world, black tea is predominantly drunk, while in East Asia it is known as red tea. The tea leaves are oxidised and then dried. After plucking, the fresh tea leaves are left to wither in wicker baskets or wilting troughs. They are then rolled to release essential oils and break down the cell walls.
The majority of black tea production comes from Sri Lanka, Darjeeling, Assam and Kenya. There are also areas in China, Turkey and Russia where black tea is grown and produced. However, these black teas are mostly used for domestic consumption in the respective country.
Black tea has a similar effect to coffee. The caffeine it contains has a stimulating effect on the human circulation and metabolism. In addition, black tea also promotes mental stimulation and increases the ability to concentrate.
