Drip Roasters Ethiopia Buku Abel
A radiant natural from the high altitudes of Ethiopia. Sometimes one sip is enough to surprise you: This coffee brings an amazing freshness and clarity to the cup that you wouldn't expect from a natural. Instead of heavy tropical fruits, it is lively, sweet and bright - a perfect companion for anyone who loves complex and elegant coffees.
The Ethiopia Buku Abel impresses with its clear, juicy flavour. In the cup, you will find notes of peach, ripe raspberry and fresh mandarin. Its natural sweetness perfectly balances the bright, fruity acidity. What makes this coffee special is its purity: despite its natural processing, it is incredibly clean in flavour, which further emphasises its elegant complexity.
Drip Roasters recommends preparing it in the Origami Dripper: 15 g of coffee to 250 g of water at 93 °C, ground to a medium to coarse grind. With five even infusions, you can achieve an extraction time of 2:45 to 3:00 minutes. This allows the fruity nuances and fine balance to unfold optimally. Of course, you can also enjoy Buku Abel in other pour-over methods such as V60 or Kalita.
The coffee comes from the Buku Abel farm in the West Guji region, where it grows at 2000-2350 metres above sea level - one of the highest growing regions in Ethiopia. It is produced by Esayas Beriso and Meskerem Tomas, who have been running their 31-hectare farm since 2009 and work closely with local smallholders. The natural is carefully dried on raised beds for 7-10 days, regularly turned and protected during periods of extreme heat or cold. Drip Roasters paid an FOB price of USD 4.53 per pound for this coffee - this corresponds to 227% of the Fairtrade minimum price.

Fresh service, please note: This coffee is freshly roasted every Monday and shipped two to three days later.
We recommend: Espresso roasts should be used 12 days after the roast date, and filter coffees 5 days after the roast date, which can be found on the package. Freshly roasted coffee needs this time to be ready for consistent extraction.
We kindly request that orders be placed by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday so that we can guarantee shipping on the following Wednesday.
