There is no more refreshing organic herbal tea than the harmonious combination of Nana mint and peppermint. Nana mint is also known as Moroccan Nana mint and its natural leaf can be used as a spice, to flavour oils or for tea blends. This unique tea creation promises a perfect balance between the sweet flavour of Moroccan Nana mint and a hint of menthol from peppermint.
The term Nana mint usually refers to three different types of mint: Mentha spicata var. crispa 'Morocco', a natural variant of spearmint from North Africa, Mentha spicata var. crispa 'Nane', the actual "Nana" mint, similar to Moroccan mint, but from the Middle East.
Nana mint thrives best in sunny to semi-shady locations. It grows slowly in overly shady areas. The soil should be loose, fresh to moist, nutrient-rich and humus-rich, with a slightly acidic to neutral pH value. Sandy-humic to sandy-loamy soils are particularly suitable. As a rule, however, this mint grows well in most normal garden soils, provided they are sufficiently fertilised and regularly watered.
Mint is said to have a healing effect on headaches, nausea and respiratory illnesses. The ingredient menthol is responsible for the health-promoting properties. The essential mint oil has an analgesic, expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect.
