The combination of mint and camomile has been part of herbal knowledge since time immemorial and this tea offers a pleasant experience. We use the finest, purified whole camomile flowers and enhance them with refreshing peppermint. The tea blend has a slightly bitter flavour, but is very mild. A balanced composition for a fresh and aromatic moment of pleasure.
True camomile (Matricaria recutita) is one of our best-known wild herbs and has the typical characteristics of composite flowers. It is basically an annual plant and grows to a height of 20 to 60 cm, depending on the location. True chamomile has a characteristic odour that distinguishes it from other types of chamomile. The plant forms thin roots, which are usually pale brown to yellowish in colour. The leaves are between 3 and 8 cm long, alternate, opposite each other and are delicate and pointed. The upright stem branches out several times.
The true camomile probably originates from southern and eastern Europe and the Middle East. It has been introduced into many countries and is therefore widespread in the wild. It grows on fields and fallow land, preferably on fresh, nutrient-rich, humus-rich loamy soil.
Camomile has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antispasmodic properties. It is mainly used for skin problems, as it accelerates the healing process of wounds and alleviates inflammatory skin diseases such as acne. Camomile also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the gastrointestinal tract and relieves stomach cramps.
