Cleaning a coffee roaster is not only important for the flavour of the coffee, but also for safety reasons. As coffee oils and chaff are highly flammable, a dirty roaster poses a serious fire hazard. A dirty roaster also interrupts the airflow of the machine, which affects the quality and consistency of a particular batch
- Mix a ratio of 1 oz (28 g) of cleaning powder per 7 to 8 litres of warm water into the container
- Place the soiled part in the cleaning solution and leave to soak for up to 15 minutes
- Use a brush to scrub away any remaining or loose residue.
- Rinse the part completely with clean water and wipe it off or allow it to air dry.
