The traditional Paranà roastery was founded in Rome in 1960 by Ruggero Giannelli and is known for its mastery of the Italian art of roasting. A highlight of the company's history is its victory in the 2008 International Coffee Tasting competition, in which the Paranà blend prevailed against numerous competitors. The name of the roastery refers to the Brazilian coffee-growing region of Paranà - an expression of the close connection to high-quality green coffee.
