derkaffee El Conejo, Honduras, Demeter
Embark on a journey of flavourful discovery with El Conejo, an exquisite demeter coffee from Honduras. Produced by Flhor de Maria Zelaya Contreras from Hacienda 18 Conejo, this coffee epitomises the passion and commitment to biodynamic cultivation.
This Arabica, a blend of the Catuai, Typica and Bourbon varieties, stands out for its harmonious and balanced flavour. The drum roasting on Diedrich brings out the natural flavours of the beans, creating a rich and complex flavour profile. You will experience a light, pleasant acidity combined with a subtle sweetness and a full body - a true masterpiece of coffee enjoyment.
El Conejo is ideal for espresso, cappuccino and lungo. The medium roast ensures a perfect balance between intensity and mildness, making this coffee a versatile companion for any time of day and any style of coffee. Whether in your espresso machine, fully automatic machine or classic filter - El Conejo will delight you with its full-bodied flavour and smooth creaminess.
The history of El Conejo is deeply rooted in tradition and innovation. A lot has happened since Elías Samuel Zelaya Siembra became the first organic coffee producer in Marcala in 1990. The pioneers of organic coffee in Honduras founded an association for biodynamic farming in 2012, inspired by the Mayan calendar and the reign of the mighty Mayan king Uaxaclajuun. This historical and cultural background flows into every sip of El Conejo, making it a coffee with soul and history.
Enjoy not just a coffee, but a piece of Honduran culture.
