The packaging of this roast still bears the unmistakable colour combination with which Caffè Mauro grew up. Unfortunately, the owners decided to modernise Caffè Mauro's market presence in 1997. The old cups with the orange-brown wave are now collector's items - they are simply no longer produced. However, the Caffè itself has not been changed - and that's a good thing. After all, the tried and tested is not subject to the spirit of the times. And so you will be reminded of days gone by with every sip of this hearty roast. What makes Caffè Mauro so unique? Caffè Mauro uses state-of-the-art roasting techniques. The optimum roasting conditions are calculated and applied for each type and quality of bean using a computer-controlled roasting system. Due to the very slow roasting process ('tostatura lenta'), the water contained in the beans can evaporate gently. The sugar caramelises in the beans, the resulting essential oils are retained and give the coffee its typical aroma.
