Horizonte Traditional, Colombia, espresso roast

100% Arabica of the Castillo, Caturra variety (100% Arabica). If you prefer Colombian espresso with a traditional flavour, this is the coffee for you. Roasted slightly lighter to emphasise the full flavour profile. A perfect espresso prepared with a portafilter machine or in a Bialetti coffee pot.

This coffee is called "Traditional" because the coffee farmer Gerardo Franco cultivates his coffee beans in the traditional Colombian way and also lives by this maxim himself.

The small plantation, a "micro lot", is located in the steep, remote mountains above the Colombian town of Anserma. The view from Gerardo's farm is breathtaking - overlooking Anserma (which is located on a mountain ridge) and the co-operative with which Gerardo Franco works. It was Gerardo's father who recognised the potential for coffee growing in this fertile soil and with this favourable climate.

There are only 8000 trees planted on the slopes above Gerardo's house. Together with his family and two pickers, they work during the two main harvest seasons. No chemical fertilisers are used. The post-harvest process consists of 16 hours of fermentation, three separate washes to remove all the "floaters" (overripe beans) and then air-drying for a few weeks (depending on weather conditions).

Christoph Sauser's path to his company Horizonte Coffee Roasters is more like a winding mountain path than a predictable tarmac road. During his 20-year career as one of the world's best mountain bikers, Sauser has won bronze at the Olympic Games, two World Cup overall rankings, four world championship titles and five Cape Epic mountain bike stage races.

Sauser's path from professional cyclist to coffee roaster was paved by the same curiosity and pursuit of perfection. Drinking coffee is just one (incredibly enjoyable) part of a large and rich coffee culture. With Horizonte Coffee Roasters, you can experience and taste it all.

Coffee Annan Café Crème, organic

Discover a world of coffee that goes deeper with the Organic Café Crème from Coffee Annan. Grown on the volcanic heights of the Rwenzori Mountains in the Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, this coffee promises not only enjoyment, but also a story of hope and change. With every sip, you support the sustainable efforts of local coffee farmers who produce this exceptional coffee under difficult conditions but with a great deal of passion. The BIO-Café Crème is characterised by its smooth and finely balanced aromas of chocolate and caramel. The combination of single origin Arabica beans of the rare Rumangabo variety and careful roasting in Kenya gives this coffee an exquisite balance of flavours. The light sweetness and creamy texture turn every sip into a small celebration. This organic coffee comes from 100% Arabica beans, which are carefully grown and harvested at an altitude of 1500 to 1800 metres above sea level. The beans are washed after harvesting and refined in Kenya to a medium-dark roast. This reduces the acidity and brings out the characteristic sweet notes to optimum effect. We recommend using a fully automatic machine, a moka pot or a French press to prepare this fine coffee. These methods bring out the natural sweetness and harmonious chocolate and caramel flavours and guarantee a full-bodied coffee experience. Your perfect morning starts with the BIO-Café Crème. With every purchase of Coffee Annan coffee, you contribute directly to a fairer value chain. This is because, unlike usual, a significant proportion of the revenue generated is reinvested directly in the coffee-growing regions. This not only supports local coffee farmers, but also promotes sustainable practices and improves living conditions in one of the world's most challenging regions. With Coffee Annan's organic café crème, you can not only enjoy excellent coffee, but also become part of a movement that shows how enjoyment and social responsibility can go hand in hand.

This unique espresso blend not only brings you an intense flavour experience, but also the story of a community fighting against all odds to bring you this remarkable coffee. The organic espresso is characterised by an expressive aroma composition in which intense notes of dark chocolate merge with a pleasant spiciness. This espresso combines fine Arabica beans of the Bourbon and Rumangabo varieties with robust Robusta beans, all of which are organically grown. The combination of 80% Arabica and 20% Robusta promises a strong yet balanced espresso experience, perfect for starting the day or as the crowning glory of a good meal. Whether from the portafilter, the fully automatic machine or the French press - this espresso unfolds its qualities in every preparation method. For optimum flavour development, we recommend using a portafilter, which brings out the complex notes of chocolate and spices perfectly.
