The Colombia Pitalito Decaf from Drip Roasters shows just how much character a decaffeinated coffee can have: mild, round, with a toffee-like sweetness and fruity notes reminiscent of dried apricots and boiled stone fruit.

What makes this coffee so special is its harmonious flavour profile. The fine balance of sweetness, fruitiness and a subtle maltiness brings real pleasure to the cup - whether during the day or in the evening. You can look forward to notes of dried apricot, toffee and a hint of malt. And all without caffeine - but with full flavour

The coffee comes from dedicated small farmers in the Pitalito region in southern Colombia. The Castillo, Caturra and Colombia varieties grow here at altitudes between 1400 and 2000 metres. After harvesting, the coffee is washed, processed and then gently decaffeinated using the natural Sugarcane process.

Whether as filter coffee, in the French press or with the AeroPress - this decaf develops its best flavours at medium temperatures and a slightly coarser grind. Ideal for anyone who wants a late cup or wants to consciously avoid caffeine

Decaffeination takes place directly in Colombia using the Sugarcane Process, which uses ethyl acetate from fermented sugar cane molasses. This natural process is considered to be particularly gentle, as it preserves the complex flavours of the coffee. The result: a decaf that doesn't have to hide - but inspires.

We recommend that espresso roasts be used 12 days after the roast date or filter coffees 5 days after the roast date found on the package. Freshly roasted coffee needs this time until it is ready for a constant extraction.
