Ceylon tea refers to a type of tea from the tea-growing region in the former Ceylon, now Sri Lanka. The three major tea-growing areas in Sri Lanka are Uva, Dimbula and Nuwara Eliya. The best quality grades come from steep altitudes of 1200 metres with sufficient humidity and rainfall, as the tea plant does not tolerate waterlogging.
Ceylon teas are high-yielding and relatively resistant to hard water. They are highly prized for English tea blends and are usually enjoyed with a little milk.
Ceylon Sunrise is organically grown and of the highest quality.
