Henauer Coffee Romeo

A coffee with heart and character. Henauer Romeo combines aromatic flavour with social responsibility. This Fairtrade blend stands for sustainability and direct support for coffee farmers in Brazil and Uganda. Perfect for anyone who appreciates a rounded flavour and a good story in their cup. In the cup, Romeo develops a harmonious flavour with notes of cocoa, hazelnut, raw sugar and a hint of maple syrup. The medium roast ensures a balanced flavour - strong but not overpowering. Ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy a smooth but complex cup of coffee. Romeo is a carefully balanced blend of 85% Arabica beans from Brazil and 15% Robusta beans from Uganda. The Arabica beans from São Gonçalo do Sapucaí provide the sweet and nutty notes, while the Robusta beans from the hills of Uganda give the coffee body and depth. Both beans are processed naturally to preserve the flavours. Henauer Romeo is ideal for all types of preparation - whether as a classic filter coffee, in a French press or in a fully automatic machine. The nutty and sweet flavours are particularly effective in the French press. Experiment with the grind to find the perfect flavour experience. The blend comes from the APAS cooperative in Brazil and the ACPCU umbrella organisation in Uganda, both Fairtrade-certified organisations. With every cup, you support social projects, infrastructure and training that improve the lives of coffee farmers. The philosophy of transparency and fairness is reflected in every bean - and in the cup you enjoy. Henauer Romeo - a coffee for conscious connoisseurs who value quality and responsibility.

A 1 kg pack of Rast Coffee Bologna Organic Fairtrade

Rast Coffee Bologna

An espresso with character and origin. The Bologna Fairtrade from RAST Kaffee combines classic Italian espresso flavours with a modern freshness. With its full body and fine notes of cocoa, chocolate and walnut, it is a delight on its own or in combination with milk - a treat for espresso and cappuccino lovers alike. In the cup, Bologna Fairtrade has an intense flavour of dark chocolate, cocoa and nutty accents. The aroma is reminiscent of fine spices, while the flavour remains balanced and full-bodied. It impresses with its dense crema and a velvety mouthfeel that lingers for a long time. This blend is perfect for preparation as an espresso and cappuccino. With its strong structure, it unfolds its full potential best in a portafilter or fully automatic machine. It is also a good choice for café crème, while it is less suitable for filter coffee. Bologna Fairtrade combines the work of small farmers and cooperatives from four countries: APAS in Brazil with its privileged microclimate, the Fero Cooperative from Sidamo in Ethiopia with over 4,000 members, the Origin Coffee Lab in Peru with a focus on training and fairness, and the Cooperativa Cafesmo in Honduras, which combines diversity and quality. Each of these groups stands for the highest bean quality and social responsibility. Bologna Fairtrade is made exclusively from high-quality Arabica beans, is both Fairtrade and organic-certified and achieves excellent scores of over 80 points on the SCA scale. With this coffee, you not only enjoy a unique espresso, but also support sustainable cultivation and fair working conditions for coffee farmers worldwide.

Not all organic is the same - what you can look out for

When buying organic coffee, it is worth taking a closer look at the labels. In Switzerland, three labels are particularly relevant: the green EU organic logo with the stylised leaf of stars, the well-known Bio Suisse Bud label and the Demeter seal.

All three stand for the renunciation of synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilisers and genetic engineering - but their requirements differ. While the EU organic label already defines strict minimum standards, Bio Suisse goes one step further: additional requirements apply to processing, social standards and biodiversity. Demeter is even more consistent - the oldest organic label in the world is based on the principles of biodynamic agriculture.

Certified or not - the decisive factor is the cultivation

An organic label helps you to quickly recognise organic products. At the same time, there is also coffee that is grown organically but is not certified for understandable reasons - such as high costs or complex international requirements.

Smaller cooperatives in particular, for example in Ethiopia, produce coffee in harmony with nature without using synthetic substances.

Here you will find certified organic coffees as well as those whose origin and production methods are ecologically sound - because in the end, it's what's in the cup that counts.
