Rast Vilcabamba, Ecuador

The small village of Vilcabamba is located in the south of Ecuador in an idyllic high valley at an altitude of 1500 metres, surrounded by mighty mountains. In Quechua, the language of the Incas, the name means "The Sacred Valley". And indeed, this place is under a special blessing: Nowhere else in the western world are there so many people who live to be well over 100 years old and enjoy excellent health.

Generations of scientists and doctors have already tried to uncover the secret of longevity in Vilcabamba. Perhaps the ideal climate between 18 and 22 degrees and the mineral-rich water of the two rivers Vilcabamba and Chamba act like an elixir of life. Or perhaps it is the particularly good air, purified by the mysterious Huilco plant, which gives people extraordinary powers. A clear explanation has never been found. The only thing that is certain is that in this place, far away from the daily hustle and bustle and stress, visitors from all over the world come to relax and let themselves be infected by the harmonious coexistence and joie de vivre of the people of Vilcabamba.

The small farmers of Vilcabamba grow the best Arabica coffee on the mountain slopes of this magical place, which is also a luxury food of great value to them. At harvest time between June and October, the families pick only the ripe, red coffee cherries, which are washed in the water of the nearby mountain rivers and their pulp removed. The coffee cherries are then slowly dried in the sun and carefully sorted by hand. The result is a coffee of outstanding quality.

As the cultivation of coffee in Vilcabamba is primarily manual labour and a "family affair", only small quantities of this coffee are produced each year.

Freshly roasted, Vilcabamba first impresses the coffee connoisseur with its wine-like, refreshing aroma, intense flavour, syrupy body and balanced acidity.

Fresh Service: This coffee is freshly roasted for you every Monday and shipped two days later.

Some companies take a short break during the public holidays. It is therefore possible that your order will not be dispatched until after the holidays. Thank you for your understanding

We recommend that espresso roasts be used 12 days after the roast date or filter coffees 5 days after the roast date found on the package. Freshly roasted coffee needs this time until it is ready for a constant extraction.

We ask that the order is always sent before 23:59 on Sunday, so that we can ensure a shipment on the following Wednesday.

Coffee Annan Café Crème, organic

Discover a world of coffee that goes deeper with the Organic Café Crème from Coffee Annan. Grown on the volcanic heights of the Rwenzori Mountains in the Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, this coffee promises not only enjoyment, but also a story of hope and change. With every sip, you support the sustainable efforts of local coffee farmers who produce this exceptional coffee under difficult conditions but with a great deal of passion. The BIO-Café Crème is characterised by its smooth and finely balanced aromas of chocolate and caramel. The combination of single origin Arabica beans of the rare Rumangabo variety and careful roasting in Kenya gives this coffee an exquisite balance of flavours. The light sweetness and creamy texture turn every sip into a small celebration. This organic coffee comes from 100% Arabica beans, which are carefully grown and harvested at an altitude of 1500 to 1800 metres above sea level. The beans are washed after harvesting and refined in Kenya to a medium-dark roast. This reduces the acidity and brings out the characteristic sweet notes to optimum effect. We recommend using a fully automatic machine, a moka pot or a French press to prepare this fine coffee. These methods bring out the natural sweetness and harmonious chocolate and caramel flavours and guarantee a full-bodied coffee experience. Your perfect morning starts with the BIO-Café Crème. With every purchase of Coffee Annan coffee, you contribute directly to a fairer value chain. This is because, unlike usual, a significant proportion of the revenue generated is reinvested directly in the coffee-growing regions. This not only supports local coffee farmers, but also promotes sustainable practices and improves living conditions in one of the world's most challenging regions. With Coffee Annan's organic café crème, you can not only enjoy excellent coffee, but also become part of a movement that shows how enjoyment and social responsibility can go hand in hand.
