A special blend of growing regions where the Max Havelaar Foundation pays a subsidy to coffee farmers. Fair trading conditions for third-world producers are the declared goal of this collaboration between Chicco d'Oro and Max Havelaar. The foundation guarantees the producers a minimum price that is necessary for their livelihood. The product is purchased directly from the producer and there is no intermediate trade. Those who drink Max Havelaar coffee are therefore guaranteed that the cultivation is decently compensated.In the border region with Italy, near Chiasso, in Balerna to be precise, coffee has been roasted at Chicco d'Oro since 1949. The products have an Italian flavour, without losing sight of the Swiss taste. Selected beans from semi-high slopes in Central America are blended in varying nuances by experienced roasting masters, depending on the harvest, so that the end result is always the product with which Chicco d'Oro has made a name for itself in Switzerland.

He serves the café crème generation with "Grandma's Käfeli", the espresso generation with the roasts "tipo Milano" (light) and "tipo Napoli" (dark). E.S.E.
