SINIS TDS meter water hardness
We recommend using soft water for preparing coffee. This not only affects the taste of your coffee, but also reduces limescale deposits in your coffee machine.
A total water hardness between 50ppm (or 2.9dH) and 150ppm (or 8.4dH) is recommended. You can measure the total water hardness with this digital TDS meter. The display of the TDS meter shows the water hardness in ppm.
If you measure values above 150ppm, i.e. your water is too hard, we strongly recommend that you filter your water (e.g. with Brita filter products), as damage to your coffee machine due to limescale deposits is not normally covered by the machine warranty.
