The ECM Mechanika MAX presents itself as an espresso machine that is controlled by a PID system and utilises an intelligent heat exchanger in combination with a rotary pump. This machine brings a number of innovations to the ECM brand. These include the ability to configure the PID controller to regulate the boiler based on the temperature in the brew group. Another breakthrough is the implementation of programmable timers for weekdays and weekends, so you can always have the MAX ready for brewing exactly when you want it.

The use of a connectable rotary pump and the compact design with a width of less than 28 cm allow the Mechanika MAX to fit seamlessly into any home espresso bar.

Inside the Mechanika MAX, its art unfolds: it uses a compact miniature rotary pump and relies on a 1.9 litre stainless steel boiler controlled by a PID controller. A distinctive feature of the MAX is its group temperature control. This feature enables the PID not only to monitor and control the boiler temperature, but also to take into account the temperature at the brew group. This is done in precise 1 degree increments and the PID also acts as a shot timer, which is activated when the brew lever is pressed. This feature makes the MAX a unique espresso machine with an intelligent heat exchanger that can control the temperature of the brewing water with extreme precision.

For those who prefer a more traditional approach, the MAX can prioritise the steaming process, which is particularly beneficial for milk lovers. It also remembers to perform a cooling rinse if the brew group is hotter than the target temperature you set to ensure the optimum brewing condition.

Although the ECM Mechanika MAX's display is compact, an impressive number of functions have been integrated into the PID controller. To make maintenance effortless, the MAX offers the option of setting reminders for backwashing or changing the water filter. It also has an ECO mode that automatically switches the machine off after a certain time to save energy.

Another remarkable advance is that, for the first time with ECM, you can programme up to two individual switch-on and switch-off times per weekday and weekend. This ensures that the MAX is always ready for use when you need it most.

In terms of design, the Mechanika MAX has significant parallels with the Mechanika VI Slim: it shares the same cup tray, similarly designed housing components and the characteristic ECM-style E61 brew group. The steam and hot water valves have undergone a remarkable further development. These have been upgraded to spring-loaded joysticks with chrome-plated tips, similar to those used in the ECM Technika V and Synchronika espresso machines. Similar to these models, a rotary pump guarantees an extremely quiet brewing process and allows the machine to be connected directly to a water pipe.
