Sirocco Rooibos Tangerine
In South Africa, the tea is considered the national drink and is usually called rooibos tea (Afrikaans rooi=red and bos=bush). It is not exactly clear how old the rooibos is, but in 1772 it was described for the first time by the botanist Carl Thunberg as a medicinal plant of the Khoisan. The plant is grown worldwide exclusively in the area of the Cederberg Mountains - about 200 km north of Cape Town - around the towns of Clanwilliam and Citrusdal. Unlike black or green tea, rooibos tea contains no caffeine and few tannins, which means that possible effects such as a bitter taste or insomnia do not occur.
To give the rooibos a more exclusive note, it is mixed with a little hibiscus and tangerine, an Asian variety of the tangerine that is better known here. The result is a great tea with a wonderful aroma that can also be enjoyed late in the evening.
Distinctive, organically grown rooibos from the cedar mountains of South Africa - wholesome, fruity and caffeine-free. The subtle tangerine note adds to the uniqueness of this blend.
