Länggass Tea Yunnan
Dian Hong, "Yunnan Black Tea", was first produced in 1936, at that time to finance the resistance against the Japanese occupation in East China. Before that, mainly green tea was made here, but also CTC black tea. Meanwhile, Dian Hong is grown in several regions around Fengqing. Unlike other Chinese black teas, Dian Hong is made from varieties of Da Ye Zhong (big leaf variety or Camellia sinensis var. assamica). In the West, it is mainly the simpler qualities that have become known, although they are usually processed whole-leaf. Good to top qualities are produced in different varieties (various forms and tea plant sub-varieties). Yun Nan Hong Cha, abbreviated Dian Hong are strong, full, malty, but without bitter notes.
