The IMS Competition precision sieve for two cups (12-18 grams) has round holes with a conical cross-section that ensure even better cream formation. The shape was determined by I.M.S. to obtain the correct relationship between the base and height of the coffee puck. The filter has a cylindrical convex base to collect the coffee towards the centre during the draw. This shape is designed to make use of the whole coffee puck.
