Mokaflor Chiaroscuro
These coffees are roasted separately, slowly and gently in a rotary drum and only then blended. This gives each variety its own optimal roasting process. This blend is made perfect by roasting each variety slowly and individually in the rotary drum for between 15 and 18 minutes. The result is a mild, low-acid and low-caffeine coffee that is just as suitable for espresso machines as for fully automatic machines. Velvety and soft, Chiaroscuro embraces the taste buds - and doesn't let them go until long after the last sip.
The Mokaflor coffee roasting company has been operating in the heart of Florence since the 1950s and has been run by the Bernini family for several generations. This beautiful tradition allows for continuity in the roasting craft and the passing on of coffee knowledge over generations.
Mokaflor roasts with a drum roaster, in which the coffee is heated slowly and gradually, which allows its aroma to develop best. After the coffee beans are blended, the coffee goes into degassing silos where it rests and degasses for about 10 days. Before packaging, the blends are tested with a professional espresso machine.
